Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Airport Density Altitude iPhone and Apple Watch app (the “app”) published by Typhoon Development, LLC (“we”, “us”). It describes what the app does with your information. The short version: we do not collect it.

Location

The app asks for your location only while you are using it. Your location is used on your device to determine field elevation and to find the nearest weather reporting station. We never receive your location, and the app does not track you in the background.

Weather requests

To get weather, the app sends a request to aviationweather.gov, a public service of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service. The request contains a geographic bounding box around your approximate position, or an airport identifier if you choose a station yourself. As with any internet request, that service can see your device’s IP address. Their handling of that information is governed by their own policies. We do not operate that service and do not receive these requests.

Information stored on your device

Your favorite airports, timers, unit choice, and settings are stored only on your device. If you use the Apple Watch app, this information moves directly between your paired iPhone and Watch using Apple’s standard connectivity features. We have no access to it.

What we do not do

• No accounts or sign-in
• No analytics or usage tracking
• No advertising
• No third-party tracking tools or software development kits that collect data
• No selling or sharing of personal information

Children

The app is a general aviation tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s behavior changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the date above before the change ships.
